life takes us on an unexpected journey // love brings us home

home is where the heart is open ✨🌲🏡🌳✨

guys! last weekend we moved to southern missouri. it was a spontaneous leap. we came up with the idea on wednesday night, made the decision the next morning, and drove our essentials down the day after that.

we moved into a darling cabin deep in an oak forest, atop a hill overlooking the meadow, on the land where i was born.
surrounded by plant & animal friends, welcomed by some of our favorite people on earth.

i’ve been dreaming and scheming for as long as i can remember about getting back to the land. tending my own little corner of the earth, living the good homestead life// growing food, foraging wild beauty medicine, raising livestock, growing soil, stewarding bees, chopping wood, carrying water :: remembering how to be a good animal. remembering what it is to be a human on this good green earth.

sometimes dreams come true in the weirdest of ways, and most unexpected of times.

like a wave across the land, i feel the medicine here. we are seeding the dream where we stand, not knowing how long we’ll stay, yet fully arrived, fully rooted for the time, being.

the world outside this little forest forcefield feels uncertain. not knowing often feels like fear. but uncertainty and discomfort are * the * gatekeepers of transformation.

i read a meme today that said, “what if:
we re-branded the unknown as: the only place i do not limit my potential."

not knowing blows the ceiling off the house. tears down the walls, pulls the rug out from under our feet. the edges of familiarity (literally, our limits) dissolve, and we see beyond. the greater our capacity to hold the discomfort of uncertainty, the greater our capacity for transformation.

joseph campbell says, “we’re in a free fall into the future. we don’t know where we’re going. things are changing so fast, and always when you’re going through a long tunnel, anxiety comes along. << and all you have to do to transform your hell into a paradise is to turn your fall into a voluntary act. >> it’s a very interesting shift of perspective, and that’s all it is… joyful participation in the sorrows, and everything changes.”

((even in the chaos, don’t forget to kiss))

the goal is to grow so strong + clear on the inside that nothing on the outside can move you without your conscious permission.

do not cling to the banks of the river and the known territory. throw yourself to the center, and let the currents take you where the flow leads. trust the intelligence of the earth (your very body), and the wisdom of your inner knowing.

:: these are wild, blessed times ::

in the midst of uncertainty, i’m reminded more than ever ::
(transmissions of tenderness from the land on which i stand) ::

🌸 peace makes us strong 🌸 gratitude feeds our blessings 🌸 faith creates a forcefield 🌸 doubt kills magic & miracles 🌸 stress creates more of what we don’t want 🌸 judgment exposes our insecurity 🌸 hate reveals our pain 🌸 acceptance opens our heart 🌸 anger displays our fear 🌸 shame betrays our humanness 🌸 vulnerability deepens our connectedness 🌸 mindfulness expands our moments 🌸 kindness fuels our happiness 🌸 love sets us free 🌸

wherever you are in the world (physically, mentally, emotionally),
i’m wishing you deep connection, comfort & faith in these changing times. 🦋🌈🍄🙏
