wild edges :: yosemite / big sur

we escaped into the wild
unplugged from jobs and lives and traveled east to yosemite with the kids in the backseat and a weekβs worth of camping gear weighing down our little honda (parking lot onlooker to us: βwow, low-riding, eh?β) β°π²πππ¨
my cubs continually amaze me.
patient, present, incredibly adaptable.
little gypsy nomads with tangles in their hair and dirt-caked feet.
feral + free πΏπΎπΏ
they make friends with neighboring campers// scamper through the forests, hike and climb and cavort.
find a giant stick to carve + color + bejewel together.
i smile a deep mama smile as i watch them from my camp chair by the fire.
peace. full.
nature helps us become the animals we yearn to be.
my soul is at home in the wild.
it blooms on the edge of the unknown.
adventure keeps me sharp + bright + clear + alive.
i am humbled and awed by the vastness of this earth. ππ
there are places that feel like homecoming- where i feel most in love with my life, most true to myself.
earth-powered places. fantasy worlds.
time suspended.
spirit cleansed, sight polished. ππΏπ
i wake at dawn- camp quiet, still,
i roll out my yoga mat.
earth prayer yoga grounds me down, loosens me up. receptive. attuned.
i feel myself, my life, new in each moment.
this place:: magical and enlightening. β°ππ
we hike all afternoon to a vista overlooking the park. it takes my breath away.
i feel so completely alive, i think to myself βthis momentβ- iβve arrived.β
